Spent much of the day on the soccer pitch. Ellie’s U-10 tournament is this weekend. Their first game was at 8 a.m. (we were up and out early) against a tough Portsmouth team that played very well and won 7-4. Ellie scored a good goal in the second half.
After the game, we jumped in the car and rushed to Lake Taylor High where Millie’s U-5 team was playing at 9 a.m. We got there about 15 minutes late. Michele said Millie’s head wasn’t entirely in the game, but she was still playing well. Here she is making a run:
And here she scores a goal out the cluster in front of the goal. Michele taped both of these. (Do you say tape when it’s digital?)
This was late in the second half. Millie popped the ball free and made a run, but the defender arrived just a little too…
It was Millie’s last game of the season and she got a medal for her efforts. She beamed.
Then we headed back for Ellie’s second game of the day. They played a team they’d lost to once and tied another time this season. It was their turn and they won 6-1. Ellie scored two goals and played very aggressively. Here she almost scores another. (It’s hard to video, watch and cheer at the same time.)
It was a long day, but I’m proud of them both. Tomorrow I race.
